Senior EHV / HV Substation Engineer – Up to £90,000 + Excellent Benefits – Leeds, West Yorkshire

The Role

Are you an experienced engineer who enjoys leading complex EHV/HV substation projects from concept through to commissioning? Would you like to work on major renewable energy, battery storage and transmission projects that are helping shape the UK's energy future? If so, this opportunity could be exactly what you're looking for.

As a Senior EHV / HV Substation Engineer, you'll join Primary Power Consulting, a growing specialist consultancy delivering high-profile projects across the UK energy sector.

Working alongside highly experienced engineers, you'll provide technical leadership and coordinate the successful delivery of projects ranging from distribution networks through to transmission-connected infrastructure. Every day brings something different, with opportunities to work on renewable energy developments, battery energy storage systems (BESS), grid connections and new-build substations.

This is an excellent opportunity to expand your technical expertise, share your knowledge with junior engineers and play a meaningful role in the UK's transition to a more sustainable energy network.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
