Role: Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer
(working on the HPC project as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer with multidisciplinary coverage)
We’re looking for an experienced engineer capable of working across high-voltage (HV), low-voltage (LV), DC, or generator systems, including working with systems operating at 400kV, 10kV, 400VAC, 690VAC, 220VDC and control circuits. The ideal candidate will be disciplined, JIT-focused, proactive and cognisant of the safety-critical environment within which they will operate. You will lead and manage commissioning activities with strong collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend team meetings, coordinate with designer and Project Managers on electrical deliverables and milestones
- Report to a Commissioning Manager/Engineer from the NNB HPC Project Team
- Develop and lead on commissioning documentation, testing protocols, and system validation activities
- Assure commissioning compatibility by integrating findings into design reviews and interfacing with technical services
- Contribute to detailed long- and short-term commissioning calendar planning, taking ownership of critical testing programs
- Supervise and drive on-site commissioning activities, including contractor teams, to ensure smooth and safe HPC system commissioning

Requirements
- Degree (or equivalent, e.g., HNC plus experience) in Electrical Engineering
- Technical competence: BS7671:2018 (18th Edition) electrical safety compliance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – able to clearly articulate complex topics to colleagues and thus inform senior stakeholders
- Capacity to manage normal pressures and work under tight deadlines with planning and optimisation tools: Microsoft Project/P6, MS Excel (grouping, filters, pivot tables), and scheduling techniques as a matter of course.
