Job Summary
The Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineering team partners with customers and multidisciplinary engineering groups to support complex assets and facilities. The role requires technical leadership for control and instrumentation systems across asset lifecycle management, designing upgrades, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for control and instrumentation systems
- Develop, review, and approve C&I designs, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
- Support asset maintenance, fault investigations, obsolescence management, and plant modifications
- Engage directly with customers, project teams, and regulators to ensure solutions meet requirements
- Lead design reviews, hazard studies, and engineering substantiation activities
- Oversee installation, commissioning, testing, and operational readiness phases
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering capability development

Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Degree in Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- 8+ years of C&I engineering experience in a regulated industry
- Strong knowledge of industrial control systems (PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation) and functional safety
- Experience in producing/reviewing engineering calculations, specifications, and design documentation
- Experience supporting design modifications and lifecycle activities
Desirable Attributes
- Understanding of safety-critical environments and regulatory compliance
- Experience with IEC 61508/61511 functional safety standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Prior exposure to defence, energy, infrastructure, or process industries
