Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP50,000 DOE

Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking consultancy that delivers innovative Mechanical and Electrical Building Services design? Day-to-Day

Your Typical Day Will Involve:

  • Developing and refining electrical designs for a variety of building services projects.
  • Collaborating with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration of designs.
  • Utilising Revit MEP and AutoCAD to produce high-quality layouts and drawings.
  • Participating in BIM coordination meetings to address and resolve design challenges.
  • Engaging with clients and stakeholders during design reviews and site visits.
  • Supporting the delivery of projects from initial concept to final completion.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will:

  • Design electrical building services, including lighting, small power, and associated electrical systems.
  • Produce technical specifications, calculations, and design documentation.
  • Develop electrical layouts using Revit MEP.
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate within coordinated BIM models alongside mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
  • Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection to resolve design issues before construction.
  • Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site inspections.
  • Coordinate designs with wider multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support project delivery from concept through to completion.
  • Mentor junior team members where appropriate.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience in Electrical Building Services design.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with BIM methodologies and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Expertise in lighting and power design.
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills.

Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and 3D modelling would be highly advantageous.
