Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Location – Kings Norton, Birmingham
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our automation team. You will be responsible for delivering detailed electrical designs, supporting project delivery, and providing technical leadership across a range of industrial and automation projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Producing detailed electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings using EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Liaising with clients to understand requirements and providing engineering solutions, quotations, and technical proposals.
- Ensuring designs are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required technical standards.
- Supporting the design and delivery of Control & LV Switchgear Panels and cabling installations.
- Providing technical support throughout project delivery, manufacture, and commissioning.
- Reviewing and approving design submissions to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers where required.

About You
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Proven experience in electrical design within automation or industrial control systems.
- Experience designing complete electrical control systems from initial client concept through to final delivery and commissioning.
- The ability to interpret client requirements and develop practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions from scratch.
- Proficiency with EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and motor control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
- A strong understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.
