Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Water
Location: Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester or London (Hybrid) Salary: Up to £60,000 + Excellent Benefits
Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to work on some of the UK’s largest water infrastructure programmes?
Advance TRS are supporting a globally recognised consultancy seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing Water team. They are delivering impactful AMP8 and long-term AMP9 programmes across the UK, with established project pipelines—ideal for someone who wants to shape the future of water and wastewater infrastructure while advancing their career in a collaborative and innovative environment.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of electrical design solutions for clean water and wastewater treatment projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and review detailed electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and technical reports
- Lead electrical design for:
- Water and wastewater treatment plants
- Pumping stations
- Associated infrastructure
- Utilise latest digital design tools to facilitate multidisciplinary project delivery
- Develop innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and delivery partners
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional development
- Drive projects with safety, quality, environmental compliance, and regulatory adherence as top priorities
About You
You’ll ideally bring:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/MIEE) status (or actively working towards it)
- Relevant experience in water and wastewater electrical design
- Proven track record in digital design platforms (BIM, CAD, or similar)
- Ability to demonstrate strong technical leadership and collaborative working in multidisciplinary teams
- Experience managing projects from feasibility studies through to detailed design
