Silcock Leedham, an RSK Group company, are recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer
This is a full-time, permanent role. Silcock Leedham is a busy Leeds-based office that has around 30 engineers.
Responsibilities
- Engage effectively with Clients and fellow professionals to foster strong relationships and promote repeat business.
- Support the promotion of SLG and RSK to identify opportunities, develop enquiries, and assist in winning new work.
- Prepare fees, submissions, and bid documents for new project opportunities (with support where required).
- Understand and manage the commercial aspects of projects, ensuring works align with scope and fee, and raising additional fees where appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and transparently at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Assist, support, and train Engineers, Graduates, Apprentices, and new starters.
- Attend external events and functions to help develop relationships and promote the company.
- Undertake additional reasonable tasks to support evolving business needs.
- Provide early-stage concept design advice relating to energy strategies, servicing strategies, and infrastructure requirements.
- Compile technical queries following review of design briefs and issued documents.
- Attend site to conduct surveys and inspections.
- Produce full design packages, including calculations, drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Prepare technical details and drawings to support Planning Applications (or Building Warrants in Scotland).
- Participate in design reviews in line with relevant design SHEQ documentation.
- Attend and contribute to Client and Design Team meetings, including preparing progress reports and notes.
- Participate in project handover activities, including defects inspections and witnessing commissioning.
- Fulfil BIM information roles as defined in ISO 19650 and project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
- Adhere to the SLCE / RSK SHEQ Policy at all times and ensure others do the same.
- Ensure Clients understand their duties under CDM regulations.
- Ensure all SHEQ incidents, complaints, and near misses are reported, investigated, and actions closed out.
- Contribute to RSK SHEQ KPIs, including raising NMPIs and taking part in Project Reviews.
- Aware of industry risk, marketplace conditions, and business impact.
- Able to handle difficult situations in a constructive, non-adversarial manner.

Qualifications And Experience

- Relevant formal qualifications (HNC / HND / Degree) in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services.
- Experience in the design and calculation of:
- Electrical: Power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, security, data, utilities.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and key design tools:
- Electrical: Dialux or Relux, Amtech, Revit MEP
- CEng (or working towards) - desirable
