As part of the appointment to Scottish Water’s new Enterprise, our projects span Scotland, including major upgrades to treatment assets, new/enhanced networks, and resilience schemes benefiting communities across the country.

The Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to projects that significantly impact our environment and communities. Working primarily in the UK water market, MMB provides feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning services for water and wastewater systems. You’ll shape electrical functions across project lifecycles—from concept design to commissioning—ensuring seamless integration of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing electrical engineering designs for water treatment equipment, covering:
- Motor Control Centres
- LV distribution systems
- Cabling
- Instrumentation
- Industrial Networks
- PLCs and SCADA Includes both latest technology and legacy system upgrades
- Producing and reviewing technical specifications and schedules for procurement, while evaluating supplier tender bids and submissions
- Supervising and mentoring junior engineers and graduates to develop their skills
- Ensuring designs align with industry standards (e.g., Client/WIMES standards)
- Collaborating with clients to build relationships and support their goals
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Chartered or incorporated membership of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) OR equivalent relevant experience
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality outputs in line with design, quality, and safety standards
- Strong stakeholder communication skills
- Methodical problem-solving approach
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across operational regions
