Day to day:
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a Tier 1 Construction company in a permanent capacity. The candidate will be taking ownership of a large project and will be managing the full end to end delivery process through the full project lifecycle from an electrical Engineering perspective. The project is currently at RIBA stage 3 (Developed Design) and will progress into the Notice to Proceed phase.
The individual will be responsible for producing/reviewing detailed designs as well as managing the client site, engage with technical service providers. They will be expected to manage the entire design process, ensure designs are technically robust and compliant, and then work alongside engineering and delivery teams to oversee implementation. This will include conducting technical reviews, quality checks, and assurance activities throughout delivery.

Key responsibilities:
- Managing and coordinating design consultants throughout the design process.
- Reviewing and incorporating feedback from technical service providers.
- Driving design approvals and governance processes.
- Managing programme ratification and tracking project milestones.
- Identifying issues and risks and escalating them to senior stakeholders, including Richard (PM), when necessary.
Must haves:
- Full end-to-end electrical engineering experience for a Tier 1 construction company, delivering on large, high-value construction and infrastructure projects i.e. design liaison, coordination and management.
- Experience engaging with the supply chain.
- Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Experience with security and ICT systems.
- Experience with BS5839 Fire Detection & Fire Alarm Systems.
- DNO (Distribution Network Operator) interface and utility infrastructure coordination.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and MEP interfaces.
- Previous experience with O&M documentation management.
- Possess a ECS Manager Card.
- BPSS or SC Clearance (current or previously held).
- BPSS takes 2 weeks.
- SC cleared - doesn’t stop them.
- Strong knowledge of BS7671 Electrical Installations Regulations.
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. - higher national certificate.

Plusses:
- Procurement of electrical plant, equipment, and ancillary systems.
- CIBSE standards and requirements.
- UK Building Regulations experience.
- Possession SSSTS or SMSTS.
- Experience with health and safety management.
- Conducted witness tests or client training.
