Senior Electrical Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Electrical Engineer to take a lead role in the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical and control systems across ASEE Group projects. In this role you will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure electrical designs meet client specifications, local and industry standards, and upload ASEE’s commitment to safety and quality. As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to efficiently deliver successful outcomes across a range of data centres and industrial engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and coordination of electrical systems, including: LV/HV Switchgear and Distribution Small Power and General Services Lighting and Control Systems Containment Systems Earthing and Lighting Protection Building and Power Management Systems Fire Alarm and Security Prepare, Review and Approve drawings, technical documents, and calculations to ensure compliance with client specifications and local industry standards. Provide technical support and guidance to electrical engineers, junior engineers, and BIM technicians. Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical and building services teams to ensure integrated project delivery. Maintain a strong understanding of project scope and programme to guarantee project effective delivery. Liaise with clients and consultants to ensure compliance across the full scope of work. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers ensuring compliance with specifications (CDE). Liaise with trade contractors for identification and validation of all interfaces. Liaise with commercial teams to prepare RFQ’s, subcontractors, supply agreements, variations and contractual letters. Support procurement team by specifying and quantifying long lead equipment and materials to meet the programme. Monitor site installation works to ensure compliance with designs, safety standards, and quality requirements. Assist in commissioning activities and provide technical support through to project handover. Ensure electrical systems comply with building regulations, BS standards, and other applicable local legislation. Promote continuous improvement in electrical engineering design, processes, and delivery.

Qualifications & Experience: Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline (Chartered Engineer status desirable). Minimum 5 years experience as an Electrical Engineer, with significant experience at a senior level. Strong track record in designing and delivering large-scale M&E projects. Excellent knowledge of BS standards, IEE wiring regulations (BS 7671), and other relevant codes. Experience in data centres, industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects is advantageous. Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., Amtech, Dialux) desirable. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Navizworks, Revit) desirable. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent report-writing, documentation, and technical presentation skills. Experience mentoring junior engineers and supporting professional development. Professional registration is desirable. Experience with PLC’s and control system design is desirable. Site experience is advantageous.
