Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer will work collaboratively with the customer to support infrastructure and asset development at a major dockyard facility. This role may include but is not limited to: being the technical interface with the customer, ensuring that all electrical aspects of facility modifications, redesigns and new infrastructure are scoped, developed and delivered, to meet operational requirements, safety standards and compliance obligations, whilst working within a team of electrical engineers supporting various projects.
Key Responsibilities
Engage directly with the customer to understand requirements and provide electrical engineering support. Scope, design and propose modifications to existing assets or new facilities based on customer needs and system limitations. Engage in the full lifecycle development of electrical projects, from conceptual design through to implementation and maintenance. Assess and approve technical documentation prior to customer submission, ensuring technical, regulatory and safety considerations have been addressed. Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to align electrical designs with broader infrastructure projects. Support the planning and execution of installation, commissioning and testing phases as needed. Provide technical input to project documentation, risk assessments and progress reporting.

Work Experience
Qualifications & Experience
HND (minimum) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred. Relevant electrical engineering experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., nuclear, maritime, infrastructure, oil and gas etc). Proven track record in scoping, designing and modification of electrical systems (LV/HV systems, lighting, power distribution etc.) Strong knowledge of relevant safety regulations and electrical standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC).
Desirable Attributes
Good Communication skills - Makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens effectively; clarifies information as needed. Proficient with electrical CAD software and tools such as ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar. Experience in working in a dockyard, marine, Defence or MoD environments particularly with asset lifecycle support. Knowledge of High Voltage (HV) Systems used in large scale or industrial facilities. Knowledge of building services or power distribution network.
