We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Lighting & Energy Solutions team in the UK and help shape our future development aspirations.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will play a pivotal role in delivering low voltage electrical design and consultancy services, taking ownership of innovative and complex engineering projects while supporting technical leads for nationally significant schemes. Your duties will include:
- Delivering design packages for electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, renewable energy systems, urban realm projects, and highway schemes—ensuring right-first-time, high-quality, compliant solutions.
- Supporting design team leads and project managers with technical design checks, reviews, and multi-disciplinary coordination.
- Taking leadership on smaller or less complex projects, managing inputs, programme, risk mitigation, and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Supporting junior engineers and technicians, mentoring them to grow professionally.
- Contributing to bid, tender, and commercial activities, including scope definition, methodologies, and estimating.
Key challenges you’ll tackle include:
- Achieving EU charging/robotics, transport microgrids, smart lighting, and integrated storage networks.
- Ensuring safety, compliance (CDM regulations), and risk mitigation in all workstreams.
- Fostering collaborative multi-disciplinary teams from concept to completion.
- Accelerating technical assurance processes and sustainability frameworks.
What We’ll Provide
Join a consultancy where your career progresses as uniquely as you do:
- Global support: Be immersed in one of the largest design teams in the UK with access to a rich technical support network in the UK and globally.
- Professional recognition: Support in achieving IEng or CEng registration through IET membership or another professional institution. Access mentorship and opportunities for further Engineering Council registration.
- Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Funding and support for industry-relevant events, seminars, and training sessions.
- Immersive experiences: Deliver national and international projects with diverse clients and stakeholders, preparing you with real-world engineering expertise.
- Personal growth: Shape your career with leadership opportunities in cleantech, energy transition, and transportation hubs, ensuring high-profile projects.
- Industry-rebounded challenges: From EV charging hubs to support decarbonization, you’ll work at the heart of net-zero objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
