Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Anglian Water @One Alliance.

What will you be doing as our new Senior Electrical Engineer?

As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will provide engineering technical direction to the discipline engineers in your area. You will provide design support for schemes and ensure all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.

  • You will be responsible for the checking and reviewing of electrical design deliverables produced by other electrical engineers in the @one Alliance and supply chain to ensure the processes and procedures are followed.
  • You will be required to coach and mentor junior and less experienced members of the electrical team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers to manage quality, time, and cost throughout the electrical design review process.
  • Ensure all electrical deliverables, including LV installations and instrumentation specifications, meet required standards and project specifications.
  • Review and verify electrical designs, schematics, cable calculations, and contractor submissions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide timely responses to construction site design queries and manage change requests effectively.
  • Support resource forecasting, recruitment, and performance management of senior electrical engineers within the Business Unit.
  • Lead health and safety compliance, including CDM participation and ensuring designs meet all relevant electrical standards and regulations.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, including graduates and apprentices, fostering continuous improvement within the electrical team.
  • Drive innovation and transformation by adopting new digital technologies, embedding standard procedures, and supporting sustainable, low-carbon design practices.

  • An engineering, or equivalent, degree, or be able to demonstrate a degree level of ability through relevant experience. Preferably be Chartered, or working towards, Chartered status.
  • Experience of water-sector assets and capital projects.
  • Knowledge of all relevant regulations, standards and codes of practice.
  • Experience of mentoring and coaching of junior engineers.
  • Previous experience in a Design & Build environment is highly advantageous, but not essential.

Mott MacDonald Bentley is a joint venture business, established in 1999 between civil engineering contractor JN Bentley and global management consultancy, Mott MacDonald.

Mott MacDonald Bentley offers fully integrated design and build services to its clients, combining the contracting expertise of JN Bentley and the design specialisms of Mott MacDonald.

This role is employed by Mott MacDonald but will involve working across the joint venture business, both with Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley colleagues.
