Location: London | Hybrid Working Type: Permanent Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
A growing engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to strengthen its London team. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work directly with clients, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality building services designs across a varied portfolio of developments.
The business operates across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial, and public infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on sustainable design and low-energy solutions.
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys both technical design and project leadership. Responsibilities include collaborative work across the project lifecycle with internal teams, external consultants, and clients to deliver practical and innovative engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Leading the electrical design on a range of projects.
- Coordinating with architects, contractors, and other design disciplines.
- Managing project programmes and ensuring timely delivery.
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
- Attending client and design team meetings.
- Reviewing design information, reports, and technical documentation.
- Producing and checking calculations, specifications, and drawings.
- Contributing to design reviews and value-engineering exercises.
- Supporting business development through client relationships.
- Maintaining high technical standards across project delivery.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline; or
- HNC/HND qualifications complemented by relevant industry experience.
- Several years’ experience delivering electrical building services designs.
- Experience working within consultancy environments.
- Knowledge of UK design standards and building regulations.
- Proficiency with industry software, such as:
- Revit
- Amtech
- Dialux
- Relux
- Understanding of:
- Power distribution
- Lighting systems
- Small power infrastructure
- Associated building systems.
- Awareness of sustainable design principles and low-carbon technologies.
- Experience coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional membership or aspiration towards chartership would be advantageous.
