The Opportunity

The UK water sector is delivering unprecedented investment to improve resilience, protect the environment, and secure future water supplies. At Stantec, our Electrical Engineering teams are helping deliver the innovative EICA solutions that make these projects possible.

We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Water team based in London, High Wycombe, Reading, Brighton, or Southampton. Working on major clean water and wastewater programmes, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects from concept through to construction. This is an excellent opportunity to build your technical expertise, take ownership of increasingly complex work, and progress your career within one of the UK's leading engineering consultancies.

About The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll play an important role in delivering EICA solutions across a wide variety of water infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, sustainable engineering solutions.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Delivering electrical and EICA designs from feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.
  • Producing Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Network Infrastructure Diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Developing electrical calculations, control philosophies, and equipment schedules.
  • Supporting design reviews, HAZOPs, and technical workshops.
  • Mentoring graduate and junior engineers while contributing to technical excellence across the team.

YOUR IMPACT

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, your work will help deliver resilient infrastructure that supports cleaner rivers, more reliable water supplies, and improved environmental performance. The designs you produce will influence major investment programmes, enabling water companies to meet ambitious regulatory and sustainability targets while providing essential services to millions of customers.

You'll also help strengthen our engineering capability by sharing your knowledge, supporting colleagues, and embracing innovative technologies that improve the quality and efficiency of project delivery. Every project you contribute to will have a lasting impact on communities and the environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
