Team Overview:

The Commercial & Estimating department is central to ensuring the financial viability and contractual success of our projects. Responsible for cost management, procurement, valuations, and contract administration, the team works closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and clients to monitor budgets, mitigate risk, and maximise value throughout the project lifecycle. Their expertise ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual obligations — safeguarding both client satisfaction and company profitability.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Lead Estimator you will be an essential part of the Commercial Team responsible for assisting in the preparation of accurate costings for electrical works associated with our data centre projects.

Day-to-day estimating will include costing of a wide range of commercial and industrial applications, from bespoke plantrooms, risers, laterals & prefabricated solutions. Be responsible for generating detailed mechanical takeoffs for turnkey commercial projects which will involve liaising with a wide range of suppliers to obtain accurate quotations for specialist equipment. Liaise with our contract managers, purchasing department & wider commercial department in order to generate a seamless link from initial costing through to design, installation and completion for each project. The role will primarily be based out of our Dundalk office, however the successful applicant will be required to attend the Mallusk office one day a week.

What You'll be Doing

  • Preparing tender and enquiry review packs to support bid/no-bid decisions
  • Reviewing schematics, designs, and 3D drawings
  • Completing electrical material and labour take-offs to develop accurate project costs
  • Sourcing and validating supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Maintaining cost data and benchmarking tools
  • Analysing labour requirements with the commercial team
  • Attending relevant site and internal meetings
  • Preparing comprehensive handover packs for successful projects to support a smooth transition to the delivery team
