Senior Electronic Design Engineer

Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Location: North London Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation developing cutting-edge electronic products for demanding applications.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development and verification of high-performance electronic hardware throughout the full product lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working on innovative products from concept through to production.

The Role

As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing high-speed digital electronic hardware and supporting analogue circuit simulation.
  • Developing board-level electronic designs from system requirements.
  • Producing schematic capture and multilayer PCB designs using industry-standard CAD tools such as Altium or OrCAD.
  • Supporting FPGA-based hardware developments, with exposure to VHDL or Embedded C considered advantageous.
  • Performing hardware verification, validation and testing of electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Producing technical documentation including test specifications, design reports and circuit descriptions.
  • Supporting existing products through investigation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
  • Working closely with manufacturing to introduce robust hardware test solutions into production.
  • Participating in design reviews, configuration control activities and technical risk assessments.
  • Supporting component selection and lifecycle management, including obsolescence planning.
  • Contributing throughout the complete product development lifecycle from initial concept through to release and ongoing product support.
  • Occasionally travelling within the UK to support project activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
