Senior Embedded Software Engineer | Birmingham (Hybrid)
GTS Group have an exciting opportunity to join an industry disrupting organisation, based in Birmingham!
The role:
- Architect and build embedded software bridging microcontroller firmware (STM32, modern C++, MISRA) and higher-level supervisory systems
- Implement OCPP (1.6J–2.1), CAN, Modbus RTU and MQTT for vehicle and cloud comms
- Own things end to end: requirements → build → live site diagnostics
- Mix of work: ~60% new development, 30% integration/test, 10% in-service support

What you'll need:
- Strong C++ in resource-constrained embedded systems
- Hands-on with CAN/Modbus and MQTT/WebSockets
- RTOS or bare-metal background
- EVSE/OCPP experience is a plus, not a must — automotive, industrial control or energy backgrounds welcome
