Overview

Are you an experienced Embedded Electronics Engineer looking to work on cutting-edge technology with genuine product ownership?

Our client is involved in high-performance electronic systems used across a wide range of industrial applications, and due to continued growth and investment in R&D, we are looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Oxfordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, combining embedded firmware development, electronics design, and new product innovation within a highly collaborative engineering environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of the R&D team, you will design, develop, and support next-generation embedded electronic products, taking projects from concept through to production.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Embedded firmware development using Embedded C
  • Design of analogue and digital electronic circuits
  • Schematic capture and PCB design/layout
  • Development of microcontroller-based systems
  • Working with ARM Cortex, PIC, and similar embedded platforms
  • Design and development of communication interfaces including SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, and Ethernet
  • Hardware and firmware debugging, testing, and validation
  • Supporting power electronic designs including DC-DC converters and constant current circuits
  • EMC-conscious product design and compliance activities
  • Rapid prototyping, testing, and product development
  • Supporting products throughout their lifecycle from concept to production

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Degree-qualified in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in embedded electronics design
  • Strong Embedded C programming skills
  • Experience designing analogue and digital electronic circuits
  • PCB design and schematic capture experience
  • Experience with microcontrollers and embedded systems
  • Hardware and firmware debugging experience
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering projects

Desirable Skills:

  • ARM Cortex platforms
  • PIC microcontrollers
  • Power electronics design
  • EMC design and compliance
  • Ethernet communications
  • 3D CAD experience
  • Rapid prototyping and 3D printing
  • Product development within a manufacturing environment
