Senior Emergency Planning Officer (EPRR) – Fixed-Term (5 Months)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Emergency Planning Officer (EPRR) to join our Operations team on a 5-month fixed-term contract.
This is a key role supporting the delivery of the Trust’s Emergency Preparedness, Resilience, and Response (EPRR) and Business Continuity programme, ensuring the organisation can prepare for, respond to, and recover from major incidents while maintaining compliance with NHS EPRR Core Standards and statutory requirements.
You will provide specialist leadership in planning, training, exercising, and assurance activities. Additionally, you will support incident response efforts and maintain readiness for the Incident Coordination Centre, collaborating closely with clinical, corporate teams, system partners, Local Resilience Forums (LRFs), and ICS colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist operational leadership to ensure the Trust can prepare for, respond to, and recover from major, critical, and multi-agency incidents.
- Establish, lead, and assure Business Continuity (BC) arrangements aligned with statutory and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate the deliver of the Trust’s EPRR work programme, including planning, risk assessments, training, exercises, and assurance.
- Support Trust Divisions in maintaining robust BC arrangements.
- Act as deputy for the Head of EPRR as required.
- Champion Integrated Emergency Management principles across prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery.
- Lead and coordinate incident response activities when required.
