Summary of the role
We are seeking a Senior Engagement Manager – Commercial & Specialty Insurance Analytics to lead strategic client engagements across our Commercial & Specialty Insurance portfolio.
This is a senior, client-facing role responsible for managing and growing key accounts, shaping innovative data and analytics solutions, and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.
You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, working closely with senior stakeholders to understand their strategic priorities, identify opportunities for growth and translate complex business challenges into impactful analytics solutions. Combining commercial acumen, industry expertise and strong leadership, you will drive long-term client partnerships, successful delivery and sustainable account growth.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
- Strategic Account Leadership: Own and grow a portfolio of Commercial & Specialty Insurance clients, developing trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and acting as a strategic advisor to drive long-term partnerships and revenue growth.
- Business Development & Account Growth: Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through cross-sell, upsell and new solution offerings. Conduct market and account analysis to identify growth opportunities, competitive displacement and emerging industry trends.
- Client Solutioning: Partner with clients to understand their strategic priorities, business challenges and transformation goals. Design and present innovative data, analytics, AI and cloud-based solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Engagement Delivery: Lead multidisciplinary, global delivery teams to successfully execute analytics and data transformation programmes across key insurance functions including Underwriting, Claims, Pricing, Finance, Actuarial, Sales, Marketing and Operations.
- Executive Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with C-suite executives, business leaders, Data & Analytics leaders and technology stakeholders within client organisations. Influence decision-making and position EXL as a trusted strategic partner.
- Analytics & AI Leadership: Work closely with solution architects, data scientists and technical teams to shape scalable analytics, cloud and Generative AI solutions that address client challenges and support digital transformation initiatives.
- Commercial Management: Develop account strategies, manage commercial performance, contribute to proposals and Statements of Work, and support contract negotiations to ensure sustainable account growth and profitability.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Delivery, Product, Marketing and Customer Success teams to ensure a seamless client experience from opportunity identification through to successful delivery and ongoing account expansion.
- Industry Expertise & Thought Leadership: Maintain a deep understanding of insurance market trends, emerging technologies and regulatory developments. Represent EXL at client meetings, industry events and conferences, contributing to thought leadership and strengthening EXL's market presence.

Skills and Personal attributes we would like to have
- 8-14 years' experience in consulting, professional services or technology services, managing strategic relationships with Tier 1 insurance clients.
- Strong Commercial & Specialty Insurance domain expertise across Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, Specialty, London Market and/or Life Insurance.
- Proven experience managing and growing enterprise client accounts with responsibility for revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated success in solution selling, consultative engagement and shaping complex data and analytics transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of insurance data, underwriting, claims, pricing, actuarial and operational processes.
- Experience delivering Data, Analytics, Cloud and AI solutions within the insurance sector.
- Commercially astute with experience supporting proposals, commercial negotiations and account planning.
- Excellent executive stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior client leaders and C-suite executives.
- Experience leading global and cross-functional delivery teams across onshore and offshore locations.
- Strong communication, presentation and consulting skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business audiences.
- Experience developing strategic account plans and identifying opportunities to expand client relationships.
- A collaborative leadership style with excellent coaching, mentoring and team development skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Generative AI, Agentic AI or AI-enabled business transformation.
- Knowledge of modern cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
- Understanding of data platforms, data governance and modern analytics architectures.
- Experience with enterprise BI and analytics technologies such as Power BI, Tableau, Databricks or Snowflake.
- Experience responding to RFPs, shaping proposals and participating in pre-sales activities.
- Established network within the UK Commercial & Specialty Insurance market.
- Experience representing an organisation at industry conferences, client forums or thought leadership events.
