Freelance Senior Engineer

Wolverhampton | £300-£400 per day | 6-7 Month Contract

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Senior Engineer to join a major regeneration project in Wolverhampton.

This landmark scheme will deliver 331 new homes, high-quality public open spaces and 20,000 sq ft of retail and commercial space, forming a key part of the area's ongoing regeneration.

Contract Details

  • Location: Wolverhampton
  • Duration: 6-7 months
  • Rate: £300-£400 per day, depending on experience.

The Role

As Senior Engineer, you'll play a key role in managing the engineering function on site, supporting the project team to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating day-to-day engineering activities across the project.
  • Supervising Site and Setting Out Engineers where required.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information.
  • Resolving engineering and construction issues on site.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring work is delivered in line with programme requirements.
  • Maintaining quality assurance procedures and engineering records.
  • Supporting the Site Manager and Project Manager with planning and programme delivery.
  • Ensuring all works comply with health, safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Engineer on residential, regeneration or major construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of engineering and construction processes.
  • Experience managing engineering teams and coordinating subcontractors.
  • A valid CSCS card and relevant engineering qualifications.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
