Senior Engineer
Leading Civil Engineering Contractor in Infrastructure and Water Sector Projects
Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor specialising in infrastructure and water sector projects, is currently looking to appoint a Senior Engineer to support ongoing works in Peterborough.
About the Role
The role will involve overseeing site engineering activities, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and assisting the wider delivery team in achieving programme and budget objectives.
Key Responsibilities for Senior Engineer:
- Lead and coordinate site engineering activities while supporting daily site operations
- Assist site management teams with planning, sequencing, and delivery of works
- Promote strong health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all activities
- Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
- Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering challenges as they arise onsite
- Oversee setting out activities and maintain dimensional accuracy throughout construction phases
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical information to support project delivery
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and project performance
- Liaise with subcontractors, designers, and stakeholders to maintain progress and resolve issues efficiently

Requirements for Senior Engineer:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years experience working on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects
- Previous experience within utilities or water-related projects would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, and quality assurance processes
- Knowledge of current health & safety legislation and industry regulations
- Valid CSCS/CSR card
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard engineering documentation systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across site teams and stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and forward planning capability
