This role offers the chance to lead engineering delivery across significant construction works, managing technical interfaces, overseeing design outputs and ensuring engineering excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to engineering teams whilst supporting project delivery, compliance, programme and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion health, safety and environmental best practice across the site, working closely with the SHQE department to maintain the highest standards.
- Assist with the development and implementation of temporary works design schemes.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the client, designer, project team and supply chain throughout all stages of the project.
- Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques, sharing knowledge and promoting technical best practice.
- Ensure construction drawings and specification documents contain accurate, sufficient information for the works, formally requesting any missing information in sufficient time to avoid programme delays.
- Communicate clearly with foremen and supervisors to ensure full understanding of technical information provided.
- Produce and review risk assessments, method statements and technical queries.
- Ensure inspection and test plans are completed in accordance with the Project Management Plan and specification, including checks on dimensional accuracy and quality.

Key Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in major construction or civil engineering projects.
- Experience within Oil or Gas, Substations or Linear Cables.
- Demonstrable experience with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and temporary works.
- Solid understanding of current health and safety legislation
- Proven ability to improve engineering processes and support delivery teams.
- Strong working knowledge of current civil engineering legislation and Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
