Senior Engineer, Bridges & Structures - UK Wide
At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your impact
You’ll make a tangible difference by applying your technical expertise and leadership to shape resilient, sustainable structures that support communities and critical infrastructure. As a Senior Engineer, your influence will extend beyond design—guiding teams, embracing innovation, and helping clients make smarter, lower‑carbon decisions that stand the test of time.
About The Opportunity
As a key member of our Bridges & Structures team, you’ll help drive value across a diverse portfolio of clients and projects, supporting our shift to a solutions‑focused, digitally enabled approach. With a strong focus on sustainability and decarbonisation, you’ll lead the delivery of innovative structural solutions across highways, rail, aviation, energy and power sectors.
You’ll lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams from feasibility through to detailed design, producing high‑quality technical and contract documentation. Working collaboratively across disciplines and with our UK and Global Integrated Delivery teams, you’ll optimise resources, champion diverse thinking and continuously improve how we deliver for our clients.
Our Bridges & Structures capability sits within Jacobs’ Transportation business, recognised for delivering technically complex schemes in the UK and internationally. Our people are central to our success, and we are committed to developing talent at every stage, offering the opportunity to grow your career while working on high‑profile programmes for clients such as HS2, National Highways, Network Rail, the Welsh Government, national contractors and local authorities.

Here's what you'll need
A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline Chartership (or close to achieving) Project management skills related to bridge design or other disciplines Strong technical design and practical problem-solving skills Candidates ideally will have a background in bridge design, however, we are equally interested to hear from candidates from other disciplines and industries.
