Senior Engineer – Data Platform Team

Overview

I'm currently working with a leading London-based FX trading technology team that is looking to hire a Senior Engineer to join its Data Platform team and help scale a mission-critical, real-time platform powering high-volume electronic trading systems.

This isn't a typical backend development role. It sits at the intersection of high-performance engineering and modern data platform architecture, focused on designing and building distributed systems capable of processing and streaming vast volumes of trading data in real time.

⚡ When market volatility increases, trade and order volumes can surge dramatically within seconds. The platform must remain exceptionally fast, resilient, and fault-tolerant under extreme load. The team is looking for engineers who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges where scalability, concurrency, low latency, and performance are fundamental.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
