Senior Engineer – Major RI Equipment

Our Major Reactor Island Equipment design function is responsible for the critical components in the Reactor Island, including the Reactor Pressure Vessel, Control Rod Drive Mechanisms, Reactor Head Arrangement, Pressuriser, Steam Generators, Accumulator Vessels, and Supports and Structures. Reporting to Heavy Vessels Manager - we seek a Senior Engineer (RPV) to join our Heavy Vessels team to develop a fully-integrated technical solution, and delivery programme, for the Reactor Pressure Vessel.
Responsibilities
This is a pivotal role and will be responsible for developing multiple programmes to ensure not only the success of our generic design, but also working with our customers, and global supply chain, to support and lead on site-specific product design activities. Thus the role will only grow as the project and business grows, and will include:
Supporting progression of the RPV design through the various regulatory landscapes including Generic Design Assessment. Managing the programme and associated costs Delivering key programme deliverables and milestones Inspiring, leading, and developing your team
You will be expected to travel on a regular basis between different sites, both within the UK and internationally, and to support engagement with key suppliers. A more detailed job description can be obtained from our Talent Acquisition Manager, Alex Jordan (find him on LinkedIn)

You Will Be a Chartered Engineer, Or Can Demonstrate That You Are Actively Working Towards Achieving This, And Also Hold a Degree Level Qualification In a Relevant Area. If You Can Offer
experience with the product design, analysis, verification, manufacture and in-service support for an RPV; and demonstrable experience of leading concept design into detail design, verification and manufacturing readiness.

In return we can offer a salary between £53,800 and £66,500 plus:-

We offer hybrid working with office locations in Derby, Warrington, or Manchester. Flexibility is important to us, and the expected frequency of on‑site work will be discussed during the recruitment process.
