Our Louisiana-based export projects fuel global demand for North American natural gas while advancing clean, reliable energy solutions. We leverage proven technology and an innovative modular, mid-scale plant design to deliver cost efficiency without compromising operational reliability.
About the Role
As Senior/Staff Mechanical Engineer – Fixed Equipment & Piping Integrity, you will serve as a technical expert ensuring the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of fixed equipment and piping systems. Your work will drive risk-based integrity decision-making, from inspection planning and Level 1/2 fitness-for-service (FFS) assessments to level 3 specialist consultations and repair/remediation strategies. You’ll bridge mechanical design, process engineering, inspection, and corrosion expertise, while mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of technical rigor and process safety.
Key Responsibilities
Fixed Equipment & Piping Integrity
- Provide advanced technical support for pressure vessels, piping, heat exchangers, tanks, and static equipment interfaces (e.g., pressure relief systems, foundations).
- Interpret inspection data (PCMS), corrosion trends, operating history, and materials performance to recommend proactive inspection, repair, and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and justify risk-based inspection plans (B31.3, API 570/510/653/580/581), including damage mechanism reviews and equipment criticality assessments.
- Lead integrity management strategies, including:
- Corrosion control programs (coatings, cathodic protection, CUI)
- Material selection & weld/inspection specifications
- Fitness-for-service (FFS) applications (Level 1/2; Level 3 coordination)
- Job hazard analysis (JHA) for high-risk interventions
- Assess damage mechanisms such as:
- Corrosion under insulation (CUI), dead legs, thermal fatigue, and metallurgical degradation
- External corrosion, coating failures, and structural settlement impacts
- Coordinate leak detection repairs, temporary fixes, and engineered refurbishments while ensuring regulatory compliance and equipment viability.
Fitness-for-Service & Lifecycle Management
- Perform Level 1 & 2 FFS assessments for damaged/thinned piping/equipment.
- Define technical scopes for Level 3 FFS experts (consultants/contractors).
- Review external inspection reports, contractor calculations, and repair recommendations for technical soundness.
- Support turnaround/outage planning, including:
- Inspection deferment approvals
- Modification of service (MOS) reviews
- Re eseténential recommendations (e.g., tolerable corrosion limits)
- Drive equipment obsolescence risks assessment and enduring reliability solutions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
