We’re seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Delivery and Schemes (D&S) directorate within Audit & Compliance, where you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting renewable electricity schemes.
As a Senior Engineer, you’ll provide expert technical support across Ofgem’s operations, specialising in accreditation, compliance, and audit processes for renewable electricity schemes. Your experience will empower robust, data-driven decision-making, ensuring schemes align with all rules and obligations.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, timely engineering advice on:
- Participant applications for accreditation and amendments
- Compliance investigations
- Contribute technical expertise to scheme development and policy reforms
- Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders across operations, compliance, and policy
- Design and deliver training programmes for diverse audiences on renewable electricity requirements
- Remain up to date on technical standards and emerging renewable energy advances
- Represent Ofgem externally at meetings, conferences, and policy discussions
About Delivery & Schemes (D&S)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
