You will join one of the UK’s leading financial services companies, where innovation and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything they do. As part of continued growth and transformation, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Engineer to play a key role in strengthening their engineering capability and supporting mission-critical platforms.
As a Senior Engineer, you will act as a key technical contributor within the team, ensuring the successful delivery and smooth operation of applications and platforms. You will work closely with architecture, development, and support teams to implement solutions that are maintainable, well-governed, and aligned with best practices.
Alongside delivery, you will play an important role in improving engineering standards, mentoring team members, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software and infrastructure solutions
- Support the operation and stability of business-critical systems, including troubleshooting and incident resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable technical solutions
- Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipelines, and modern engineering practices
- Ensure technical documentation, standards, and governance processes are maintained and improved
- Identify opportunities for optimisation across systems, processes, and tooling
- Support out-of-hours operations on a rota basis where required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience within software engineering environments
- Strong commercial experience with PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimisation, performance tuning, and integration with scalable software applications and APIs.
- Solid backend programming language
- Understanding of software development best practices and design patterns
- Experience working within Agile (Scrum) teams
- Version control experience using Git or similar tools
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and approaches
