Senior Engineer – HS2 Project (Earthworks)
We are recruiting Senior Engineers to join a leading earthworks team on the HS2 project. As a Senior Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring earthworks are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a landmark infrastructure project while further developing your skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting site surveys (GNSS) and setting out for earthworks, including batter rails and travellers.
- Reviewing 3D machine control models and collaborating with the Foreman to decide on optimal construction methods.
- Preparing RAMS, plans, and ensuring all QA processes (ITPs, checklists) are in place before works commence.
- Performing soil quality checks and providing recommendations for material suitability based on test results.
- Supporting near- and long-term rolling-wave planning, including mass-haul planning and constructability assessments.
- Mentoring junior engineers and fostering their development through on-the-job training.
