Do you want the opportunity to work on a broad range of fluvial and coastal flood risk management projects, utilising your technical skills and experience to help support our clients with the development of their projects? This role will provide you with this exciting opportunity within a market-leading climate resilience team.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, optimistic, conscientious, and talented senior engineer with excellent communication skills and technical expertise. The successful candidate will be an efficient worker who enjoys a growth-orientated environment and can excel both independently and as part of a team.

This role requires close collaboration with multi-disciplinary climate resilience teams across the UK and Europe, as well as teams from other Business Lines. You will deliver coastal and flood defence projects from feasibility studies and appraisals through to detailed design and construction support, often managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

The successful Senior Engineer will be expected to:

  • Develop successful river engineering and/or coastal projects with expertise in hydraulics, geotechnics, structures, and materials.
  • Implement projects using digital engineering and 3D design, including Building Information Modelling (BIM).
  • Plan your work efficiently, ensure organisation, and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, leading and collaborating on complex projects.
  • Prepare technical project reports, including:
    • Feasibility studies
    • Option appraisal reports
    • Business cases
  • Develop detailed designs and Works Information packages for river/coastal structures.
  • Review and check the work of others for quality and compliance.
  • Lead design teams and manage site experience as Contractor or Designer.
  • Understand design and construction contracts and appreciate construction processes.
  • Manage and direct more junior staff, coaching them in technical matters.
  • Work effectively and persuasively in multi-functional project teams.
  • Contribute to business development by developing networks and providing technical inputs in bids.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
