Senior Engineer, SRE

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineer, SRE based in United Kingdom.

This role offers the opportunity to build and operate the infrastructure powering advanced AI-driven products and services.

As a Senior Engineer, SRE, you will help design reliable, secure, and scalable systems that enable engineering teams to deliver with confidence.

You will work across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, automation, and production reliability while solving complex technical challenges.

The position combines software engineering, infrastructure design, and operational excellence rather than traditional IT operations.

You will have significant ownership in shaping platform architecture, improving developer experience, and preparing systems for rapid growth.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys autonomy, solving ambiguous problems, and building resilient technology platforms.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, build, and operate reliable infrastructure that supports AI-powered products and high-scale workloads.
  • Own and improve Kubernetes environments, including cluster reliability, networking, workload isolation, autoscaling, and deployment patterns.
  • Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure across areas such as networking, security, identity management, and platform automation.
  • Improve production reliability through observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and disaster recovery practices.
  • Build automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions to reduce operational complexity and eliminate repetitive manual processes.
  • Improve CI/CD workflows, GitOps practices, progressive delivery, and deployment safety mechanisms.
  • Optimize infrastructure costs through better resource management, capacity planning, and performance improvements.
  • Operate and enhance distributed data systems such as search and database platforms.
  • Investigate and resolve complex production issues across application, infrastructure, networking, and data layers.
  • Identify architectural improvements and help evolve systems to support increasing usage, larger customers, and new AI workloads.
  • Take ownership of critical technical challenges and collaborate across engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
