The Role
As a Senior Weapons Integration Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the efficient, safe and effective conduct of specific evaluation, test and/or trial activities. This will typically encompass Air platforms and OME (Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives) certification, qualification, performance, operability and safety in the role domains.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide specialist scientific or technical advice and consultation. Tasks will encompass the project lifecycle from technical strategy through to delivery, working as part of multidisciplinary teams requiring solution definition efforts that will be delivered in accordance with the associate Project Delivery Plan.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting hazard-based Evaluation and Testing of the integration of OME on a wide variety of aircraft platforms
- Ensuring the equipment and systems are safe for flight as well as being fit for purpose
- Evaluations will be conducted on Transport, Combat, Helicopter and Un-manned Air platforms
- Undertaking a range of evaluations encompassing single equipment or role related changes to a platform
- Assessments of newly introduced aircraft and deliver technical hazard and risk-based reporting
Essential experience of the Senior Weapons Integration Engineer:
- Skills, knowledge and experience of Aerospace Weapons Integration
- Significant on the job experience working in the Aerospace Engineering domain
- Experience of OME and tactical employment of Air Weapons
- Knowledge of complex electronic hardware, communications, displays, controls and mission systems, sensor and warning systems
- Knowledge of OME Certification and Qualification
- Knowledge of military or civil aircraft

Essential qualifications for the Senior Weapons Integration Engineer:
- Aerospace or Electronic Engineer [ONC, HNC or HND], nationally recognised (EngTech/Ieng) or working towards that accreditation
- Chartered Engineer (desirable)

Role Details
This role is 37 hours per week based at our Boscombe Down site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. We can accommodate candidates working from our other UK hubs including Bristol, Salisbury, Waddington and Warton.
Boscombe Down
MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight-testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
