Senior Engineering Geologist

Senior Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer

  • Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum + pension, professional fees etc.
  • Type: Full Time
  • Region: UK - Yorkshire & Humberside
  • Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

The Role

My client is a firm of engineering consultants with offices around the U.K. They are now seeking a [Senior Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer] to join them in LEEDS, WEST YORKSHIRE.

You will provide geotechnical solutions across:

  • A wide range of projects, including those in the RAIL sector.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting ground modelling.
  • Administering geotechnical design.
  • Performing risk assessments.
  • Collaborating closely with other engineering departments.
  • Dealing directly with clients.
  • Contributing to business development.

The Company

  • An established firm of engineering consultants specialising in:
    • Building structures.
    • Infrastructure projects.
    • Transportation.
    • Other diversified fields.

The Candidate

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Geology or equivalent.
  • MSc in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering (preferred but not mandatory).

Professional Registration

  • Chartered status with:
    • CGeol or
    • CEng tied to a relevant specialist register. or
  • Actively working towards obtaining chartered status.

Experience

  • Minimum six years of experience in the Rail sector, including:
    • Earthworks inspections reporting.
  • Experience producing:
    • Geotechnical Interpretative Reports.
    • Mining Risk Assessments.

Must be proficient in:

  • Ground investigation planning, specification, and supervision.
  • Interpretative reporting.
  • Specifying and designing earthworks and geotechnical solutions.

Additional Requirements

  • A full UK driving licence to enable site travel when necessary.

Remuneration & Benefits

  • Salary: Negotiable between £40,000 and £45,000 per annum.
  • Package further includes:
    • Pension.
    • Training towards chartered qualification.
    • 25 days annual holiday.
