Servomex – Senior Engineering Manager
Location: Crowborough, UK | Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Leadership Role: Drive groundbreaking gas analytics solutions
Lead the teams responsible for transforming complex gas analysis challenges into groundbreaking products delivering global benefits—fueling cleaner, healthier and more efficient industries.
Headquartered in Crowborough, Servomex’s UK Technical Centre unites multidisciplinary teams collaborating globally to design innovative next-generation gas analysis solutions. We are now seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to inspire and lead technical innovation from technical excellence to customer-centric delivery, bridging the gap between hardware and software engineering across multiple disciplines.
About the Role
This is a senior leadership role requiring an exceptional blend of technical expertise, strategic vision and transformational leadership. The ideal candidate will drive product development from initial concept to global launch and lifecycle, partner with stakeholders to shape an empowered engineering culture that delivers game-changing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational
- Shape and execute the product development roadmap, spanning conceptualization, launch planning and lifecycle management
- Orchestrate the cross-functional product journey from technology vision through global rollout
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop hardware and software engineering teams, fostering environments that encourage innovation
- Cultivate a coaching culture, guiding individuals from their development potential to optimum performance
Customer & Commercial Insights
- Foster customer-collaborative design, embedding validation into solutions from the outset
- Partner with Product Management to align technical roadmaps against value delivery imperatives

- Embed Lean and Agile mindsets, driving R&D efficiency through measurable KPIs and continuous improvement
- Champion emerging technologies and rapid prototyping as enablers of pragmatic innovation
Organisational Capability
- Strengthen internal and external partnerships, particularly in intellectual property strategies and collaborative development
Key Requirements
Essential
- Unquestionable ability to lead multicultural, mixed-discipline engineering teams (hardware + software)
- Proven success in delivering complex new products—thorough grasp of lifespan from idea to market
- Operational experience with Agile methodologies and involvement in project delivery frameworks
- Keen business awareness paired with combative stakeholder convaincre intuitively reading requirements and opportunities
- Coaching-driven leadership: Experience fostering talent, inspiring growth and driving high-quality outputs through effective teams
- Comfort navigating cross-functional buy-in (operations, manufacturing engineering, support, service, and sales)
- Insight into Lean R&D philosophies (e.g. DFSS, Scrum) and how to apply for impactful R&D management
- Verifiable track record mentoring/coaching others toward peak performance in challenging roles
Qualifications
- Relevant degree in Engineering or Sciences
