Senior Engineering Manager, Infrastructure
Senior Engineering Manager – Laravel Cloud Infrastructure
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Infrastructure organization responsible for the foundation that powers our developer-focused cloud platform: Laravel Cloud. This platform is built for developers and teams who want to ship their next big idea, optimized relentlessly for Laravel and PHP.
The mission is to improve the experience of developers everywhere—by investing in world-class infrastructure and the people who enable it. You’ll drive ambitious infrastructure challenges, develop leaders, guide technical direction, and foster an environment where engineers excel.
Your focus will be four types of ownership:
- Leadership along site reliability, availability, and performance outcomes
- Dedicated partnerships across product, engineering, and leadership
- Implementation of best practices such as GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and security
- Clear communication of technical priorities to stakeholders, engineers, and leaders
Location: Between EU West and US East to optimise collaboration with a globally distributed team.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Growth:
- Mentor and grow the team of Engineering Team Leads, each in charge of specific cloud infrastructure areas (Kubernetes, AWS, networking, storage, observability, and internal services)
- Foster a culture built on autonomy, ownership, reliability, and continuous improvement
- Guide Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including on-call design, incident response, and reliability standards
- Drive individual and team career success through 1:1s, goal setting, and clear feedback mechanisms

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
