LOCATION: Belfast

SHIFT PATTERN: 40 hrs full time role permanent contract with Mon-Fri, flexible on weekend

SALARY: Competitive

As a Mechanical Building Services Engineer at ABM, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of mechanical systems at our client's site, which encompasses over 3 million square feet of factory floor space.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Projects Manager to lead the delivery of capital, lifecycle, and infrastructure projects within a live industrial environment.

This is a senior client-facing role with responsibility for managing projects from concept through to handover. You will oversee contractors, consultants, budgets, programmes, safety, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring minimal disruption to site operations.

This role will suit an established projects professional with strong engineering knowledge, commercial awareness, and a track record of delivering complex works in operational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering multiple concurrent engineering projects across site estates
  • Leading projects from feasibility, scope development, and business case through to commissioning and handover
  • Managing budgets, cost forecasts, programmes, and change control
  • Coordinating contractors, consultants, and internal operational teams
  • Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, statutory, and site standards
  • Reviewing technical proposals, designs, RAMS, and installation quality
  • Providing clear progress, cost, and risk reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Identifying future upgrade opportunities and supporting capital planning
  • Driving high standards of performance across project teams and supply chain partners

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Engineering Degree in Building Services, Construction, or similar
  • Significant project management experience in relevant environments
  • Good understanding of health & safety legislation and contractor management
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and project planning software

Desirable

  • APM, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent
  • IOSH or NEBOSH
  • AutoCAD
  • CDM experience
  • Preventive maintenance of all required services

Personal Attributes

  • Proven experience delivering capital or engineering projects in industrial, manufacturing, FM, utilities, or critical environments
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Experience managing contractors, live-site works, and project risk
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness
  • Confident communicator able to engage with senior clients and stakeholders
  • Organised, decisive, and delivery focused
