United Infrastructure

United Infrastructure is a dynamic and rapidly expanding business, focused on delivering critical infrastructure projects, across the utility and social infrastructure sectors.

Our team of highly skilled and hardworking specialists deliver innovative solutions to the complex challenges our clients face.

Our Company

Our company is split into two business areas:

Utility Infrastructure

Our team of Utility Infrastructure specialists design, build and maintain critical water, energy (gas), power and telecoms infrastructure, for the UK’s largest network owners and operators.

Social Infrastructure

Our team of Social Infrastructure specialists revitalise homes and communities by carrying out a wide range of work, from retrofit to refurbishment, and maintenance.

Equal Opportunities Statement

At United Infrastructure, we are committed to making every interaction a positive and inclusive experience. If there is anything we can do to support you, remove barriers, or make the process more accessible, please let us know — we want this to be the best possible experience for you.

As the UK transitions towards a low‑carbon energy system under the Government’s Clean Power 2030 Action Plan, resilient and flexible electricity infrastructure is critical. United Infrastructure supports this transition by delivering fully integrated power infrastructure solutions across transmission and distribution networks. As an Independent Connection Provider (ICP), we deliver end-to-end design, construction, and maintenance of electrical networks up to 400kV.

What We Are Looking For

As part of our services, the Power Transmission & Distribution (UIPT&D) services are seeking a Senior Environmental Adviser to support the environmental controls and mitigations in the delivery of a significant project to our client.

Based in Alness, Scotland, the project to construct and install energy transmission infrastructure covers approximately 80km of the Scottish Highlands between Loch Buidhe to Beauly. The successful candidate, as well as receiving an industry competitive benefits package will encounter and support the environmental protection and sustainability of almost every species of Scottish flora and fauna to be found across the project landscape, forests and waterways from Eagles and Osprey, Wildcat and Badgers to Greater Crested Newts, adders and Water Voles.

About the Role

Reporting to the Environmental Lead, the role forms part of the Health, Safety, Environmental, Sustainability and Quality (HSESQ) team in providing technical support and practical guidance to the project teams.

The role provides an opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the project with consideration of the environmental controls, mitigations and responsibilities in line with the legal, company, client and other stakeholder’s requirements and responsibilities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
