Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join a leading UK infrastructure contractor delivering one of the UK's most significant low-carbon energy projects. As a Senior Environmental Advisor, you will play a key role in the delivery of a nationally significant Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) scheme, helping construct new CO₂ pipeline infrastructure that will transport captured carbon emissions from major industrial facilities for permanent offshore storage, supporting the UK's Net Zero ambitions.

Working within a collaborative project team, the Senior Environmental Advisor will provide environmental leadership throughout the construction phase, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, planning commitments and client standards while supporting the safe and sustainable delivery of complex civil engineering and pipeline works. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Environmental Advisor looking to work on a flagship infrastructure programme that is shaping the future of carbon capture in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support environmental compliance across a major Carbon Capture infrastructure project.
  • Develop, implement and maintain Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) and associated environmental documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with planning conditions, environmental permits, licences and contractual obligations.
  • Carry out environmental inspections, audits and monitoring, identifying improvements and promoting best practice.
  • Advise site management teams on environmental legislation, pollution prevention and sustainable construction methods.
  • Coordinate environmental surveys, groundwater and surface water monitoring programmes, ecological protection measures and specialist investigations.
  • Manage environmental incidents, ensuring appropriate reporting, investigation and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Liaise with regulators, local authorities, environmental consultants and client representatives.
  • Prepare environmental reports, permit applications, risk assessments and technical documentation.
  • Support Environmental Impact Assessment commitments and mentor junior environmental professionals while promoting continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
