Senior Environmental Consultant
Main Purpose of Job
Project management of environmental claims projects including all aspects of fieldwork data gathering, risk assessment, and factual and interpretive reporting. Responsible for all project budgeting and invoicing, ensuring projects are delivered in a timely manner in line with Client service level agreements.

Reporting to the Consulting Regional Manager, as a Senior Environmental Consultant, your focus will be on providing cradle to grave project management for environmental projects, including all aspects of fieldwork data gathering, risk assessment, and factual and interpretive reporting. - Project budgeting and invoicing, ensuring deadlines and targets are met in line with Client service level agreements
- Gathering robust fieldwork data
- Oversight of subcontractors/remediation contractors
- Observing health, safety, and environment rules and procedures
- Maintaining project communication on technical and commercial levels to a diverse range of clients, regulators, and site owners
- Writing technically sound and commercially focused proposals, scopes, and reports
- Mentoring and supporting in the training of junior team members

Qualifications And Skills Required
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) gained through developing as an Environmental Consultant, with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment experience
- Experience completing factual and interpretative Preliminary Risk Assessments (desk-based and intrusive)
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering or natural science-related discipline (e.g., Geology, Environmental Science, Physical Geography)
- A full UK driving licence
- Understanding of current and emerging environmental legislation
- Excellent organisational, time-management, analytical, and numerical skills with an eye for detail
- Excellent communication and written skills, with the confidence to interact effectively with clients and the public
- Commercial awareness both in project costings and in risk management
