We are seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of high standards of health, safety and environmental performance across construction projects in London. This is a highly site-facing role, working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure compliance with UK legislation, company standards, and industry best practice.

REPORTING TO: EHS Manager

Purpose of Role

You will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, supporting continuous improvement, and providing competent, practical health and safety advice across multiple live construction sites.

Role Responsibilities

Health & Safety Leadership

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the company’s health and safety management systems across multiple construction projects
  • Provide professional, pragmatic H&S advice to senior management, site teams, and subcontractors
  • Attend project start-up meetings and contribute to project-specific H&S planning and documentation

Auditing, Reporting & Compliance

  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring appropriate reporting, root-cause analysis, and close-out of actions
  • Prepare high-quality H&S reports for internal management, clients, and external stakeholders
  • Support accreditations, tenders, and pre-qualification submissions

Site & Supply Chain Engagement

  • Promote consistently high standards of health and safety performance across the supply chain
  • Ensure subcontractors operate in line with company systems, client requirements, and UK statutory duties
  • Liaise with clients, designers, and enforcement authorities where required

Training & Safety Culture

  • Identify training needs and support the delivery of internal H&S training and briefings
  • Actively promote a positive, proactive safety culture focused on learning and continuous improvement
  • Provide mentoring and support to other Health & Safety Advisors as required

The Candidate

  • Third level qualification in H&S or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience working on large scale commercial/construction projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, CDM principles, and industry best practice
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Conscientious, highly focused and detail orientated.
  • Self-starter and the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Full clean driver’s license preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills.
