Senior Sustainability & Environmental Manager
Location: Yorkshire / Leeds (Multi-Site)
Salary & Benefits: £70,000 – £75,000 + car allowance + excellent benefits
The Role
We are supporting a rapidly growing construction and infrastructure group, part of a £400m+ five-company organisation, in the appointment of a Senior Sustainability & Environmental Manager.
With a strong pipeline of major projects valued between £6m and £100m+ across the UK, this is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving business in a key leadership role, driving environmental performance and supporting continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational environmental leadership across the business
- Manage and mentor a team of Environmental Managers
- Oversee environmental compliance, audits, inspections and risk management across live projects
- Support pre-construction activities, tenders and bid submissions
- Drive continuous improvement of environmental management systems, including ISO 14001
- Lead environmental initiatives across:
- Waste management
- Materials management
- Resource efficiency
- Support contaminated land management activities, including:
- Materials Management Plans (MMPs)
- CL:AIRE DoWCoP compliance
- Work closely with project teams to embed environmental best practice throughout project delivery

About You
- Strong environmental management experience within the construction sector, including:
- Leadership of teams or multi-site environmental functions
- Excellent understanding of:
- UK environmental legislation
- Compliance and stakeholder management
- Technical expertise in:
- ISO 14001
- Environmental audits and inspections
- Waste management
- Permits
- Materials Management Plans (MMPs)
- CL:AIRE DoWCoP
- Proven ability to:
- Identify environmental risks
- Drive compliance
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives across projects and operations
