Main Responsibilities
- Assisting in the developing and maintenance of Emergency Planning & Fire Safety documentation (Plans, Policies, Instructions and Standards).
- Assisting in the Development of Rescue Plans (Height & Depth, Confined Space etc.).
- Validating Incident/ Emergency, Rescue and Fire Plans by assisting and supporting of development and facilitation of Drills and Exercises based on changing Risk Profiles. To include Notifications and Post D&E Reports.
- Assisting in maintaining a progressive and robust Emergency Drills & Exercise programme and tracking actions until completion.
- Developing and facilitating related Learning and Development activities.
- Coaching / Mentoring of Individuals and Teams in Emergency Preparedness and Response.
- Assisting in the maintenance of Emergency and Fire Safety Equipment and Facilities.
- Providing advice and support for Emergency Planning and Resilience issues across the business.
- Experience of conducting inspections and audits of Platforms, Work Areas and for compliance with applicable Fire and Emergency Preparedness Regulations or Requirements.
- Assisting in Accident and Incident investigations.
- Advising, assisting, and supporting Bilfinger subcontractors with Emergency Planning, Response and Fire Safety which includes auditing and assurance activities.
- Clear understanding and compliance with all obligations imposed under the contract.
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Task Risk Assessments and Method Statements (TRAMs) for work activities.
- Produce and deliver relevant toolbox talks, as required, to all staff and operatives on subjects relevant to the dedicated work area keeping records of all attendance registers.
- Attend the meetings e.g. progress and HSE meetings to discuss Emergency and Fire risks and opportunities.
- Provide fire risk assessments.
- Report writing.
- Responding to ad-hoc fire related queries.
- Other fire safety related works such as liaising with the Internal Regulator.
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with NNB Emergency Preparedness, Response and Fire Safety Teams focusing on Trust – Transparency – Teamwork to achieve the ethos of ‘One Team’.
- Any other tasks reasonably requested by the line manager.

Mandatory Experience and Qualifications

- Experience in one of the following roles:
- Construction Health and Safety role or Fire Safety role.
- Blue Light responder’ role (e.g. Fire & Rescue, Ambulance, Police).
- Armed Forces leadership role where managing incidents and emergencies and the relevant training can be evidenced (e.g. Advanced medic training).
- Construction EP role (either at HPC or a similar large site).
- Fire Risk Assessment Certification Level 3 or Level 4 for Complex Buildings
- Competency based interview

Desirable Experience and Qualifications
- Experience of supporting the on-site Fire & Rescue Team with the provision of risk information and supporting the continual improvement of Fire safety and emergency arrangements on the HPC Site.
- Experience in providing fire risk assessments and writing reports. Prior experience of building relationships with the client.

- HPC EMCC Introduction Course
- City & Guilds Level 4 Award in Plan, Manage and Review Legislative and Safety Compliance for Work in Confined Spaces (6160-06)
