Senior Epitaxy Equipment Engineer
£70000 - £104000 + Bonus + Relocation Package + Benefits

Are you an experienced Semiconductor Equipment Engineer looking to work with some of the most advanced epitaxy technology in the industry?
Whether you're already based in the UK or considering relocating from overseas, this is an outstanding opportunity to join a world-leading semiconductor manufacturer investing heavily in its future.
Our client is expanding rapidly to support a significant increase in customer demand and has made substantial investment in new epitaxy manufacturing equipment. As part of this growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior / Principal Epitaxy Equipment Engineer to provide technical leadership across a highly specialised semiconductor manufacturing operation.
This is far more than a maintenance role. You'll become one of the technical experts responsible for supporting, improving and commissioning cutting-edge semiconductor equipment whilst helping shape the future direction of the engineering function.

The Role
Reporting into the Engineering leadership team, you'll take ownership of critical epitaxy manufacturing equipment, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, uptime and performance within a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Process Engineering and external equipment suppliers, you'll support both day-to-day production and longer-term engineering improvement projects.

Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Supporting MOVPE, MOCVD and related epitaxy manufacturing systems.
- Leading equipment reliability and continuous improvement projects.
- Supporting installation, commissioning and optimisation of new capital equipment.
- Fault finding on complex electro-mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum and control systems.
- Working with high-vacuum reactors, pumps, gas delivery systems and associated infrastructure.
- Managing preventative maintenance programmes to maximise equipment availability.
- Supporting equipment suppliers and external service engineers during upgrades and installations.
- Managing spare parts, consumables and engineering inventories.
- Contributing to site shutdowns, major maintenance activities and technical problem solving.
About You
You'll already have a strong background supporting complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment and enjoy solving technically challenging engineering problems.
We're particularly interested in engineers with experience of:
- Semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment.
- Equipment reliability and preventative maintenance.
- Vacuum systems and high-vacuum technology.
- Electro-mechanical fault finding.
- PLC-controlled industrial equipment.
- Pneumatic systems.
- Reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Working safely with hazardous gases and chemicals.

Experience in any of the following would be particularly advantageous:
- Epitaxy.
- MOVPE.
- MOCVD.
- MBE.
- CVD.
- Thin film deposition equipment.
- Semiconductor reactor technologies.
- Equipment from manufacturers such as Aixtron, Veeco, SPTS Technologies, ASML, Palomar or similar.
Applications are also welcomed from experienced Semiconductor Equipment Engineers with transferable wafer fabrication equipment experience, even if your background isn't exclusively within epitaxy.
