Job Description

The Solutions Consultant: Technical is a customer-facing role within SYSPRO ERP implementations and forms a key part of the broader Consulting Services team as a revenue-generating function. The role is responsible for training, guiding, and supporting customers in the effective use of SYSPRO products and related components, ensuring issues are identified, resolved, and managed in accordance with SYSPRO’s standard procedures. It plays a critical role in delivering high-quality product support, driving successful customer adoption, and ensuring a positive implementation experience.

Job Requirements

Minimum Level of Education

  • Level 4/5 qualification (HNC, Foundation Degree or equivalent) in a relevant field

Beneficial Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications or certifications

Minimum Experience

  • 5 Years of experience in the relevant field.
  • Demonstrable experience in the installation of enterprise-scale software products within customer environments.
  • Experience working within project-centric environments, formally managed within a structured implementation framework.

Beneficial Experience

  • Experience with Syspro ERP or similar enterprise ERP platforms

Special Skills and Knowledge

  • Sound knowledge of core software operating system concepts and principles.
  • Strong knowledge of network comms & enterprise cloud, Azure, and on-premises hardware components and configuration, including connected services.
  • Broad knowledge of all core ERP processes is desirable.
  • Existing knowledge of SYSPRO and associated OEM and approved third-party products is desirable.
  • Strong and broad technical skills relating to all core enterprise server, desktop hardware, and network considerations, for both on-premises, cloud, Azure, and connected services.
  • A well-rounded knowledge of enterprise software installation considerations is required (and preferably within an ERP context), to ensure that SYSPRO software installations are carried out to a consistently high standard, in readiness for the consultancy agenda to commence.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and in context to written documentation.
  • Ability to build rapport with and help influence the decision-making process with customers and internal teams alike.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated & self-managing, with an ability to manage own workload with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to think laterally under pressure
  • Ability to provide education and knowledge transfer to other members of the team, as required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing best practice advice and guidance regarding the technical infrastructure and network communication considerations within the context of customer-facing project activity.
  • Take the lead in the installation of the chosen software product(s) on the customer's chosen target infrastructure, producing corresponding documentation, prior to the consultancy agenda commencing.
  • The role is expected to have a broad understanding of Syspro’s core product portfolio, including OEM and Syspro-approved third-party products, to understand the minimum and recommended technical requirements for each product, before articulating this to technical resources within the customer’s organisation.
  • Understand optimal hardware configurations to best support Syspro’s software products, including disc configuration, CPU, RAM, logical partitioning, etc.
  • Required to provide advice to the customer regarding possible hardware options, to satisfy the functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Provide assurance, support, and education/knowledge transfer during the implementation, where performance testing or troubleshooting is needed, to ensure that an optimal performance level is achieved prior to going live with the chosen solution.
