Senior Estate Surveyor - Permanent Position - £47,181 - Hybrid - Lancashire

You won't often find visitor attractions, commercial investments, schools, leisure facilities and open land sitting within the same portfolio. That's exactly what makes this Senior Estates Surveyor opportunity so interesting.

A North West local authority is seeking an experienced property professional to join its estates team and provide practical, commercially focused advice across a varied operational and investment portfolio.

The role will involve:

  • Managing general landlord and tenant matters across the estate.
  • Delivering valuations for a range of land and property assets.
  • Assisting with property acquisitions and disposals from instruction through to completion.
  • Resolving encroachments, ownership queries and other property-related issues.
  • Advising internal services and stakeholders on commercial property matters.
  • Supporting wider asset management priorities and future organisational change.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a genuine general-practice position offering plenty of variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work with assets that are slightly different from the usual council portfolio.

The successful candidate will be MRICS and a Registered Valuer, or able to demonstrate eligibility to obtain Registered Valuer status. Previous local authority experience would be beneficial, although experienced surveyors from private consultancy backgrounds will also be considered.
