Senior Estimating Engineer / Production Engineer - (Precision Engineering – Aerospace & Oil & Gas)

Join a long-established, market-leading subcontract precision engineering business, delivering complex, high-spec components for aerospace and oil & gas customers. This is a senior, influential position with genuine impact on margin, delivery performance and manufacturing methods.

Reporting to the Director, you’ll sit at the intersection of sales, estimating and production engineering. You’ll produce accurate, competitive quotations, ensure manufacturability, and act as the technical/commercial link between customers, suppliers and internal production and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Commercial

  • Create detailed cost estimates for CNC machined components/assemblies from RFQs, drawings and specifications
  • Interpret complex drawings including GD&T, tolerances, surface finishes and material requirements
  • Obtain competitive pricing for external/special processes (e.g. heat treatment, coating, NDT)
  • Support pricing strategy to stay competitive while protecting margin
  • Clarify technical and commercial requirements with customers during quotation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
