Senior Estimator – Civil Engineering & Infrastructure

Midlands
£150,000 p.a. + Bonus + Package

A Rare Opportunity with a Growing Civil Engineering Contractor

A highly respected UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Estimator to strengthen its pre-construction team.

The business is currently experiencing a significant period of sustained growth, supported by a strong order book and a pipeline of major infrastructure and engineering projects across the Midlands.

With a long-established reputation for delivering technically complex projects safely and efficiently, the company works across sectors including transport infrastructure, aviation, utilities, highways and major urban developments.

This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale civil engineering projects typically ranging from £20m – £150m+ while playing a key role in shaping winning tender strategies.

The Role

As Senior Estimator, you will lead the preparation and submission of competitive tenders for major civil engineering schemes.

You will work closely with senior commercial, operational and technical teams to develop robust pricing strategies and successful bids.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading tender pricing for major civil engineering and infrastructure projects
  • Reviewing technical documentation, drawings and specifications
  • Developing cost plans, pricing strategies and value engineering solutions
  • Managing the supply chain enquiry and pricing process
  • Identifying and managing commercial and technical risk
  • Preparing tender adjudication reports and bid presentations
  • Working closely with project teams to support the handover from pre-construction to delivery

What They’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within Civil Engineering
  • Experience pricing medium to large infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of UK construction contracts and procurement routes
  • Excellent commercial and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead tenders and coordinate internal bid teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable:

  • Experience with highways, rail, utilities, aviation or major infrastructure schemes
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
