Role: Senior Estimator

Location: North West England

Your new role

You will be responsible for producing estimates for all aspects of construction works on a wide range of projects across the North West, whilst supporting the Estimating Team in Stirling. You will also perform a key role reviewing supply chain quotations and challenging these to ensure that value is achieved.

  • Reviewing tender enquiries and developing a bid strategy with Bid Manager to give a competitive edge
  • Producing market competitive, nett cost estimates for both traditional and non-traditional bids in line with the Robertson Group processes and procedures
  • Carrying out accurate quantity take-offs for the purposes of estimating
  • Inputting labour, plant and materials into estimating systems to deliver first principles based estimating ethos
  • Issuing and vetting material and sub-contract enquiries where required to support nett cost pricing
  • Liaising with the procurement department to obtain material quotations
  • Inputting into tender adjudication / finalisation documents for senior management approval
  • Establishing value engineering opportunities to give our bids a competitive edge
  • Establishing risks within the tender scheme to mitigate our exposure
  • Preparing and checking tender letters, technical notes and qualifications for issue
  • Attending client interviews as required
  • Preparing benchmarking reports and data to support bids
  • Inputting bid data into CRM system where required
  • Coach, mentor and assist with training junior staff to support development
  • Comply with Robertson QMS procedures
  • Other duties as required by senior management

QUALIFICATIONS/RELEVANT INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 15 years’ experience working within the construction sector is essential with experience of various projects and of a range of project values.
